Mooring Bollard Load Testing

BOLLARD LOAD TESTING SAUDI ARABIA

Bollard Load Testing

EIWAA Marine Services offers Bollard Pull Testing and Bollard Load Testing Services in Saudi Arabia with  non-destructive testing and NDT inspection services. The periodic assessment and integrity inspection can reduce port accidents by testing SWL verification. Mooring bollard load testing inspection services are typically performed to ensure that the mooring bollards, which are used on docks to secure boats, can withstand the required loads. Along with certification of bollards, we can also certify mooring bollard body, mooring cylinder, weld base as well as anchor bolt at critical angles. EIWAA Marine is approved by major ship classification societies of ABS, BV, IRS, and Lloyds Register with approvals of Major Port of Saudi Arabia.

The purpose of mooring bollard load testing services is to ensure the safe structural integrity inspection of bollards using a portable test bed, either with or without the assistance of tugboat arrangements. In major ports of Saudi Arabia, mooring bollards are essential for the safe mooring of ships and other vessels. As a Marine Third-Party Inspection Services provider in Saudi Arabia, we have demonstrated results in bollard testing and certification at ASRY, Saudi Ports Authority, Port of  NEOM, Dammam Port, and other locations. Deflection measurement Bollards during/after the  load testing inspection shall be performed by Laser measurement services.

BOLLARD PULL TESTING SERVICES IN SAUDI ARABIA

Bollard pull testing of tugboats involves measuring the maximum static pulling force that a tugboat can exert. Bollard pull testing in tug boats is a critical procedure to determine the pulling capacity and performance of the vessel. The bollard pull test involves securing the tugboat to a fixed bollard onshore or on a specially designed test rig and then exerting maximum power to pull against the bollard. It helps to evaluate the actual pulling capacity of the tugboat under controlled conditions.

Bollard Load Testing by Testbed

Portable test bed arrangements are commonly used for conducting such tests in the mooring direction.

NDT Inspection

Bollard testing followed by NDT Inspection of Eddy Current Testing, MPI Inspection and ultrasonic testing.

Saudi Arabia Ports

Approved by all the major ports of Saudi Arabia with marine classification approvals of ABS,BV ,Llyods and IRS.

HOW TO PERFORM BOLLARD LOAD TESTING BY PORTABLE TEST BED

Mooring bollard load testing is a crucial procedure to ensure the safety and reliability of mooring bollards in ports. Portable test bed arrangements are commonly used for conducting such tests in the mooring direction. Before conducting the test, the portable test bed arrangement is set up near the mooring bollard to be tested. The test bed usually consists of calibrated load cells and other necessary equipment. The testbed is securely anchored to the ground to provide stability during the testing process. Load cells are attached to the mooring lines that will be connected to the bollard. These load cells accurately measure the tension forces exerted on the mooring line in real-time. After the structural integrity inspection, Topographical survey of the yard shall be performed by a total station survey.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The purpose of bollard pull testing is to measure the Engine HP of a tug boat by using a dynamometer load cell and lifting accessories. For this, a fixed bollard of sufficient capacity has to be arranged at the quay wall areas of the deck and the dynamometer load cell with lifting accessories connected between the bollard and tug boat. Upon the max. force exerted by the vessel while during operations, we can measure the load at calibrated load cell by Engine horse power calculations.

By using self-generated hydraulic force exerted by the Portable test bed on the bollard at the mooring direction, we can measure the load by the calibrated load cell. Ensure the bollard integrity by suitable NDT Inspection services before/after the load testing inspection.

Bollard Pull Testing is used to find out the tugboat engine horsepower or BP. Mooring Bollard Load testing in a quay wall area shall be performed by portable test bed arrangements by gradually applying hydraulic load in tons and the applied load in a mooring direction. Bollard to Bollard load testing is also used to find out the load capacity of the bollard in at transverse direction. Bollard testing services are effective by evaluating the bollard integrity inspection at a critical angle.
