BOLLARD LOAD TESTING INSPECTION

EIWAA Marine Services offers Bollard Pull Testing and Bollard Load Testing Services in Saudi Arabia with  non-destructive testing and NDT inspection services. The periodic assessment and integrity inspection can reduce port accidents by testing SWL verification. Mooring bollard load testing inspection services are typically performed to ensure that the mooring bollards, which are used on docks to secure boats, can withstand the required loads. These services often include conducting load tests to determine the maximum load capacity of the bollards and inspecting them for any signs of wear or damage. EIWAA Marine Services can perform the bollard load testing inspection and certification capacities of up to 200 tons at Mooring directions. Along with certification of bollards, we can also certify mooring bollard body, mooring cylinder, weld base as well as anchor bolt at critical angle. EIWAA Marine is approved by major ship classification societies of ABS,BV,IRS and Lloyds Register with approvals of Major Port of Saudi Arabia.

BOLLARD PULL TESTING IN SAUDI ARABIA

Bollard pull testing of tugboats involves measuring the maximum static pulling force that a tugboat can exert. Bollard pull testing in tug boats is a critical procedure to determine the pulling capacity and performance of the vessel. The bollard pull test involves securing the tugboat to a fixed bollard onshore or on a specially designed test rig, and then exerting maximum power to pull against the bollard. It helps to evaluate the actual pulling capacity of the tugboat under controlled conditions. This information is crucial for determining the vessel’s capability to safely tow larger ships and handle heavy loads. By conducting bollard pull tests, operators can ensure that the tugboat meets safety regulations and standards in terms of towing capacity, engine power, and stability. In marine class surveys, the bollard pull testing is typically performed by classification societies or recognized organizations to verify that the tugboat complies with the required standards and regulations. The surveyor overseeing the test will ensure that the test is conducted as per the guidelines and record the results accurately.

BOLLARD LOAD TESTING  BY TEST BED ASSEMBLY

Mooring bollard load testing is a crucial procedure to ensure the safety and reliability of mooring bollards in ports. Portable test bed arrangements are commonly used for conducting such tests in the mooring direction. Before conducting the test, the portable test bed arrangement is set up near the mooring bollard to be tested. The test bed usually consists of calibrated load cells and other necessary equipment. The test bed is securely anchored to the ground to provide stability during the testing process.  Load cells are attached to the mooring lines that will be connected to the bollard. These load cells accurately measure the tension forces exerted on the mooring line in real time.

BOLLARD LOAD TESTING APPROVALS

All major IACS classification societies in Saudi Arabia have approved EIWAA Marine Services, which holds ISO/IEC 17020 accreditations and major port approvals. The purpose of mooring bollard load testing services is to ensure the safe structural integrity inspection of bollards using a portable test bed, either with or without the assistance of tugboat arrangements. In major ports of Saudi Arabia, mooring bollards are essential for the safe mooring of ships and other vessels. As a Marine Third-Party Inspection Services provider in Saudi Arabia, we have demonstrated results in bollard testing and certification at ASRY, Saudi Ports Authority, NEOM, Dammam Port, and other locations.

Approvals are not limited to the following,

  • Port of NEOM
  • Major IACS Classification Societies
  • American Bureau of Shipping
  • Ports of Saudi Arabia
